Tools to Transcend Your Emotions

This is a picture of Mel, last Friday morning in our chiropractor’s office.

The night before she woke up at 1 am in extreme pain. She said her neck felt stuck and she literally couldn’t move. She was in so much pain and couldn’t figure out how she did this while she was sleeping.

Before she went to bed she said she felt stressed and had been worrying but didn’t think too much of it because she was tired and didn’t want to get into it.

Typically when she’s stressed or something is bugging her she does one of the following…

  1. Journaling
  2. Heart Freedom Method with me
  3. Talk it out until she feels better

In this case, she chose to ignore it and hoped that it would go away.

First thing in the morning I took her to see our holistic chiropractor. We were hoping to get her to see our awesome Osteopath (who also happens to be Mel’s twin) but she couldn’t sit in the car long enough so we ended up waiting until Saturday for that.

Lucky for us we have a number of amazing natural and holistic health practitioners who understand how integrated your mind, body and emotions are.

Anyhoo… back to Mel.

According to our Chiro, she said it looked like Mel had been in a huge fight and like her whole body was twisted and completely out of alignment. She asked what she had been doing.

Well here’s the interesting thing… For the past week, Mel has felt like she was being pulled in two different directions in terms of her career.

Although these feelings were there, she wasn’t quite fully aware of them or at least wasn’t consciously ready to admit that they were bugging her.

Emotions are so fascinating to me. Emotions are one way that we disconnect from the heart. The only thing that we experience when we live through our heart is gratitude, love, inspiration, and wisdom. That’s it!

Emotions are created when we see an experience or something else as either more good than bad or more bad than good. They occur when we aren’t seeing both the support and challenge and are only looking at one side.

When you are experiencing emotions, for example, fear, resentment, dread, elation, etc, they get stored in your body.

This is important because these stored emotions can have a huge impact on your health, wellbeing and your physical body.

For Mel, emotionally she felt like she was being pulled in two different directions. Instead of listening and leaning into them she tried to ignore them. But, “What you resist, persists.

And it wasn’t until her body started to reflect these emotions and literally started to twist in two different directions that she was forced to start to pay attention.

I’m not saying that all illness, pains and health issues are tied directly to emotion.

What I am suggesting though is that there is such a huge link between our thoughts, emotions and our body.

What we think about, what we feel and what we believe can and does have a direct impact on our health and you physically.

Having tools to transcend your emotions is SO important.

Here are a few tools that may help you when you are feeling a little stressed or disconnected from your heart.

  • Journal
    • By writing how you feel and giving yourself permission to just write whatever comes up, you are embracing the emotions and not just avoiding them.
  • Gratitude
    • Seeing both sides of the situation. Having gratitude and seeing the perfection.
    • Ask yourself… since I am worthy of love how is this benefiting me?
  • Mind/Body Techniques
    • There are different types of mind/body techniques that can help you reconnect with your heart and release stored blocks or emotions.
    • For example, Heart Freedom Technique, Tapping, EFT, Inner Freedom, NET, etc.
    • You can read up on these or find someone who can help you with these (or feel free to reach out to me and I can help you out).

These are just a few examples. Do what works best for you.

Next week I’ll share with you how I used the Heart Freedom Method to help Mel release her stored emotions and fears. It is by far my number one tool for living from my heart.

We are so grateful that we have tools, but also that we are surrounded by holistic health practitioners who can help work with the body as well.

PS…  My favourite part of this whole story is that when Mel thanked our chiro for all her help she simply replied, “No problem. I’m here to help. We are all on the same team, here to help each other out on our journey’s.”
